Support Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources by donating lightly used or unwanted media materials.

Your books, movies and items of historical value may be used to expand our growing collection!

 

At this time, we are temporarily suspending the acceptance of donations.

 

We accept the following materials:

  • Paperback/hardcover fiction in good condition, published in the last 10 years.
  • Hardcover non-fiction in good condition, published in the last 10 years. (We do not accept media with time-sensitive, inaccurate or obsolete information).
    Children’s books and puzzles in good condition.
  • Media in good condition including CDs, DVDs and
    Blu-Rays.
  • Antiquarian books, genealogy materials, special collections and items of historical value and local interest.

All donations become public property of Sarasota County.

Items that complement the collection will be dispersed throughout the library system. Others may be sold at the Friends of the Library bookstores where proceeds are used to sponsor programs or expand resources.

Receipt provided upon request at the time of donation.
